Roberto Osuna, 18, is the youngest player on the current Lansing Lugnuts' roster.

LANSING, MI – Starting pitcher Roberto Osuna, 18, is in his first season with the Lansing Lugnuts, the Single-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound right-hander wears uniform #24.
A native of Los Moches, Mexico, Osuna was signed by the Blue Jays’ organization as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He is currently the number two prospect in the Toronto Blue Jays’ farm system, according to BaseballAmerica.com. His fastball has been clocked as high as 97 mph.
Osuna recently answered MLive questions about baseball and other topics. He was assisted in the interview by Lugnuts catcher Aaron Munoz, who helped with interpretation. Following are Osuna’s responses:
Q. What is your favorite thing about playing in Lansing?
A. Nice people; nice city. They’ve got great people. I’m comfortable here. The people are treating me great. (The stadium) is really good.
Q. What has been your most memorable baseball moment?
A. The first time I ever pitched as a professional in Mexico. It felt really great, amazing. I felt just like a little kid.
Q. What has been your most embarrassing moment on the field?
A. When I experience tough times, like when I give up a home run or something like that, it’s kind of embarrassing but it’s funny at the same time.
Q. What is your biggest baseball strength?
A. My family taught me to be a good player and a good person. I work hard and get my body ready to pitch.
Q. Where do you feel a need to improve your game?
A. Just to be more consisted with all of my pitches.
Q. Who was your baseball idol growing up?
A. My father. He played in the Mexican League for 22 years.
Q. What is your favorite movie of all-time?
A. I like “Fast and Furious.”
Q. What kind of music do you listen to?
A. Mexican food; tacos, tamales or something like that.
Q. What is your favorite food?
A. I like Latin music, like reggaeton or Mexican music.
Q. Who has been your biggest baseball influence?
A. My father. He always talked to me about experience and how to act as a baseball player. I’ve always looked up to my father.
